Corona Virus - County Council Update 18th March 2020
Residents urged to help council - Powys residents are being asked to work with the county council as it responds to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The county council is following UK, Welsh Government and Public Health Wales advice and is asking residents who need to contact the council to use the website, email, app and phone rather than face-to-face at council offices.
Please listen to guidance from UK and Welsh Government and follow advice from Public Health Wales and other health officials to help tackle this outbreak. It is likely that council services will be disrupted in future and we ask residents and services to be patient.

Community Council Meetings Suspended
At the meeting held on 17th March, 2020 Members agreed to suspend meetings given the current situation with the corona virus outbreak. As things stand the April meeting will not take place and the situation will be reviewed in mid April.

Community Council Budget set for 2020-21
At the meeting held on 21st January the Community Council set its annual budget for 2020-21 at £8485. This includes donations to the three village halls at Kinnerton, Evenjobb and Walton plus the Radnor First Responders and Wales Air Ambulance. This results in a cost of £20.88 per year for a Band D property, an increase of £1.88 on 2019-20.

Donation from Tarmac
Old Radnor Community Council applied for a lottery grant at the end of 2016 to install three defibs in outdoor cabinets at Kinnerton, Evenjobb and Walton but was not able to also cover Old Radnor village with the funding available. The Council approached Tarmac to see if it would consider funding a unit for the village. The company agreed and recently donated £1500. A defibrillator unit and cabinet was purchased in June this year (2019) and installed in Old Radnor village by Council Chairman Trevor Bell.
Thanks to CARIAD the suppliers of the unit and cabinet, to Lewis Jenkins at Tarmac for his efforts in securing the monies and to Tarmac itself for supporting the community in this way. It is very much appreciated.

Garden Waste Banks to be removed
Garden waste banks at community recycling sites in the county are to be removed over the next two weeks, Powys County Council has said.
The banks from 35 community recycling sites are being removed now that the council has introduced its fortnightly kerbside garden waste collection service.

Grant Awarding Policy
A formal grant awarding policy has been adopted by the Community Council. Grants will be given to local groups and organisations providing direct benefit to the Council area. National organisations, with the exception of the Wales Air Ambulance, will not be considered.

Old Radnor has eleven Councillors on its Community Council and these are split into two Wards.

The Community Council is delighted to announce that thanks to a grant from the Big Lottery Awards for All Fund it will be able to purchase three defibrillators and heated cabinets for the area. The units will be sited on the outside of the three village halls - Kinnerton, Evenjobb and Walton.

Footpaths in Old Radnor: Following the receipt of a " definitive Rights of Way " map from Powys County Council, Old
Radnor Community Council will carry out a snapshot audit in June 2016, of the footpaths in its area.

A new refuse and recycling collection search facility has been launched on the Powys council website which enables residents to enter their postcode, select their address and then be provided with a list of future refuse and recycling collection dates.
